Reviews of Casa Di Volce - Large house close to skiing (4388) Date  13-09-2016 Rating  Name  French Family - August 2016 Message  We stayed here (6 of us - 2 adults and 4 children from 9 to 17 years) in August 2016. We took our bikes with us, and cycled up to Most Na Soci, through Tolmin, and came across some fantastic scenery and beautiful crystal clear waters. On this day it reached 48 degrees, but thankfully, the house was nice and cool with it's thick stone walls and structure. We also went to Kobarid (15 mins drive) to do the white water rafting, as the more local place where you can walk to from the house (Maya Sports - LAbcra restaurant) was fully booked.. so you need to book in peak season. I can fully recommend X point sports. We had a fabulous time, and the rapids are breathtakingly clear, even for someone who was a little bit scared, it was an amazing trip. The house is beautiful, full of character, with fantastic views of the Julian Alps from many of the windows (front . side and back of the house), as well as the Julian balcony. Nicely furnished, and even though the house is old, and you can see this with the exposed stone walls, and original wooden floorboards, the furnishings are new, modern and contemporary. The local people here are so friendly, with many of the locals having lived here all their lives. There is a fabulous pizzeria and pub just across the road from the house, with a fabulous selection of ice-creams too.. very good prices as well. We also walked to LABCRA restaurant, which is a long the river, fantastic wooden style place in the country, with superb views.. even you can see the paragliders coming down. A fantastic holiday, full of things to do, and with amazing beauty.
