We really enjoyed this apartment. Everything was exactly how described and even more than we expected. The pool area is absolutely magnficent and the apartment is overall luxurious. The car park was convenient and we enjoyed taking our daily drives to Ronda, Marbella and of course Esterpona beach. We would recommend this apartment to anybody who wants to have a carefree holiday in a beatiful and safe enviroment.
We were travelling with four children aged from 2 years to 13 years. The children loved everything and were having a time of their life.. Thank you Brian once again.

Our family had a very nice stay. The apartment and complex was perfect for our 3 children aged 12, 9 and 2.
The apartment was fully in line with expectations and everything was in order and good condition incl. cleaning. Brian's extensive information packaged meant no practial issues with the apartment and the staff at Mar Azul was very friendly.
The outdoor pool area is very nice, but quite chilly (as expected) this time of year. We did use it and then moved to the indoor pool, which we had to ourselves incl. sauna e.t.c.
The location is excellent, BUT unless you plan to stay in the resort you do need a car (which is relatively inexpensive to rent) and then you will find the location excellent for trip to Gibraltar, Ronda, P. Banus, mountains e.t.c.
Great stay and trustworthy owner!!

NICE RELAXING EARLY HOLIDAY
Date of Stay: April 2010
The owner, Brian, will do everything he can to make your stay at his lovely spacious apartment as comfortable as possible. His information pack is detailed and very helpful. We stayed there in early April 2010.
The apartment and complex is of a very good quality and the pool plus sea view make for that 'on holiday' feel. Both were extremely clean and well maintained and the complex staff were friendly. The apartment has everything you could need and we enjoyed our stay there. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet break then this should meet your requirements. Not disturbed by any dust clouds we arrived safely in Rotterdam after a magnificent holiday.
As is already mentioned countless times in your guestbook and in the reviews you do have a great apartment; we really felt like home!!
Next year we will visit the aparment again. Our only concern is the availability of the apartment; due to the perfect location lay out, facilities and surrounding it should be fully booked for the whole year.

A BIG THANK YOU
Date of Stay: August 2010
Hi Brian
Just to let you know we have all arrived safely back home and thought that I would just send you an email to say A BIG THANKYOU. We have had a terrific time, your apartment is absolutely beautiful and the Mar Azul was great. We have all thoroughly enjoyed it. The quality of accommodation was fantastic, it was really nice to go somewhere with all the home comforts. We would love to go again and will be in touch with you again to arrange this. Our children loved it, the teenagers were really happy with the Wi-fi and loved being able to take their computers and keep in touch with their friends on facebook on an evening. The staff were really helpful, especially Mimi, Carlos at the Pool Bar and the lifeguard Salomee who really was very nice and helpful, in fact she really entertained our youngest daughter who is only 5 and Mikaela really liked her to the extent she would help her every morning sweep up round the pool......Paco was great too, he collected us from the airport and took us back this morning and was really friendly and helpful
The pool area is so well kept and clean, I don't think we have every been anywhere before where the staff pay so much attention to ensure how clean the areas and pool are kept. The pool bar was open every day (in fact it was actually closing today) so it was well timed on our part as we used it every day and found it very convenient for drinks and snacks for us all.
Anyway just thought I would send a quick email just to say Thank you. The information you supplied before we got there was very informative and very useful. Thank you for all your help. We will be in touch again with you to rebook for definite.

We have just returned from our wonderful holiday in Mar Azul - November 2008. I travelled with my husband and our 2 children aged 2 1/2 and our 5 week old baby and it was an ideal location.
Brian Colling was so helpful prior to our trip and sent us all the info we needed to plan our holiday. The apartment was absolutely beautiful and amazingly well equipped. It had everything we needed and more. We wanted a quiet holiday due to the arrival of our new baby and lots of sleepless nights before we came away, and that is exactly what we had. The surrounding area of Mar Azul was so tranquil - the apartment overlooks the sea and magnificent swimming pool and we also had the pleasure of the heated indoor swimming pool.
We will most definitely recommend Mar Azul (specifically Brian's Apartment) to our friends and hope to return ourselves in the near future. Thank you so much to Brian for all his help!
Liked — The apartment is beautiful and very well equipped and it is overlooking the sea but also has a fabulous outdoor swimming pool and a heated indoor pool.
Disliked — It is necessary to have a car to really avail of the location.

Along with my two kids (14 and 15 yrs old) I stayed at this complex in Brian's apartment in November 2008. I can only say that it was the most rewarding venue I have ever stayed at, not least because the owner Brian was so detailed, straight, generous and agreeable to do business with. The apartment has been finished to a very high standard, with furnishings and fittings both stylish and comfortable. I was very impressed with the residual food supplies in the kitchen (to which we added), the umbrellas (for those, yes, regrettable occasions!), flashlights, music system (which we didn't actually use - I made a point of not telling my kids about the possibilities of piping music to the bathrooms and bedrooms!), TV (hugely impressive and very much appreciated), comfortable beds... The only difficulty we had was operating the key-card in the front door, but once we figured out the trick (thanks to the security guards) all was well. The complex itself is extremely well-run, the staff managing to be warm and friendly while at the same time very efficient. The pool is fab, the view wonderful, only the beach could be better.
All in all, I highly recommend this place to anyone. Remember though that it can be very quiet in off-season if you have small kids looking for playmates! I look forward to returning again soon!

We just stayed for a week at Mar Azul. The whole experience was fabulous. The villa's owner, Brian, was excellent. Before even leaving London he sent us everything we needed to know about getting there, the villa and the surrounds. I referred to it constantly and it had the answer everytime.
The villa and grounds are beautiful. We have three children, ages 6, 4 and 3 and they loved the pool. It was a bit chilly for me but the kids loved it. The beach is a bit stoney but the MAR AZUL pools & gardens make up for it.
We recommend you definately have a car. We did several day trips, all ideas Brian had left in the villa as a point of reference.
The villa itself is modern, clean, safe and has everything you require.
I would recommend it to anyone.

I stayed at the Mar Azul in October 2008 for 1 week along with my husband, daughter (aged 9) and mother. We had a fabulous week!
The apartment was extemely spacious and very well equipped. The terrace was large and was furnished fabulously. We could not fault it at all!
We usually stay at the Kempinski next door - but thought we would try the Mar Azul for a change and we will definitely return.

We found out about the MarAzul-resort by chance from a web-site with that name when we were searching for accommodation in Estepona for a week in July. When we arrived at Mar Azul-resort we were stunned at the beauty & tranquillity.
The massive pool areas at Mar Azul turn out to be nicer than the pool at the 5 star Kempinski Hotel next door, and so full of interesting features, my favourite of which was the underwater jacuzzi deckchairs embedded in the tiles of the central pool area. Near to those are water-filled canals where our two youngest played for hours, while we relaxed in the loungers overlooking them. There’s a fountain or a shower or a waterfall or a lovely stone statue or a wooden bridge wherever you look. There’s a massive white bowl with water overflowing from it in a curtain-like waterfall, which you can lie under and keep cool. But when things got just too hot one day, we all retreated into the shade of one of the thatched cabannahs, and played silly games merrily, sat in the wonderfully comfortable arm-chairs & settees while the Sun beat mercilessly down. The pool area is surrounded by an exotic array of sub-tropical trees and shrubs and beautiful flowers.
The apartment we booked overlooked all this, and the Sea beyond. When my husband brought me a coffee to bed that first morning and opened the curtains, I watched two fishing boats at work ! And the view over the flood-lit pools and gardens from the terrace and grass at night was just as unforgettable. Just what holidays are about.
Our apartment was advertised as “ultra-luxurious 2-bedroom apartment –sleeps 6”, and we were a little concerned where our 3rd & 4th child would sleep. The problem turned out to be that they all wanted to sleep in the super-king-sized-bed that uncurled miraculously from the sofa in the lounge, and so they all did ! The rest of the apartment was just as described. One surprise just followed another:- gigantic mirrors in the bathrooms that never steamed up ! lights that turn on themselves, speakers for the surround-sound-system in all the rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, & terrace ! The underfloor heating never used, but the air-con was superb and well-used !
We only had two problems, one with the setting of the alarm system (we had been pressing the wrong button), and the other with the electric underground garage door (a twig was trapped in the runners). Both problems were rectified efficiently by the in-house community maintenance man.
The MarAzul-resort 's own pool-side café-bar offered good value snacks, and it’s only a few minutes walk to the Kempinski Hotel with a choice of pool-side bars & restaurants. And just a few minutes beyond that is “The Laguna Village”, a tropical collection of up-market shops, cafes, restaurants, and pool-side bars built right on the beach. Taking our family of 6 in there for a meal would have extended our budget too far, but I’m already looking forward to a return visit for a bit of pampering minus the kids. As it was on two occasions we ate happily and cheaply in the nearby Cruisos beach-bar (well entertained by a professional saxophonist on the Saturday night) whilst the kids played happily on the beach nearby.
We didn't use the leisure club much, just a quick visit to see what was there. Looked superb, but just too warm to use the well equipped gym !
We will return. The price is at the extreme top end of our budget, but it’s worth it for the luxury and there are no extras. (The price includes electricity & access to the leisure club). Some of the nearby restaurants are expensive, but we walked into Estepona twice, and there are restaurants & bars there to suit all pockets. It was too hot to walk there some days, so we got the bus. It’s a lovely place to meander, particularly around the harbour.
We WLL be back !
