Camping Cabopino
Camping Cabopino is a professionally run site with various amenities such as children's activities/entertainments, 24 hour security, a cashpoint machine, a lovely bar/restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating offering great coffee and wonderful food at very reasonable prices, an internet cafe, a small grocery shop, wifi access, launderette, a small park/gym area, small football pitch, 2 pools (one of which is covered and heated for winter months), sunbeds, volleyball, boules etc. There are often Spanish lessons on offer too!
Cabopino Port/Beach
The site is 5 minutes walk from Cabopino Port and beach. Cabopino beach is home to the very popular Andy's Beach Bar which serves fresh food all day and offers entertainment most nights during summer months. Seasonal opening times depend on the weather - they didn't close at all during winter 2011/12 due to the high temperatures!
There are plenty of sunbeds/parasols down on the beach along with a beach shop selling beach toys and refreshments.
Activities available on the beach are jet-skiing, banana ride, trampolining and there is even a massage tent!
Cabopino port is beautiful and offers various types of restaurants/bars ranging from an Irish bar, Brian's bar and a sports bar for those who like to keep up with the cricket/football etc while enjoying the sun to cocktail bars and a beautiful fish restaurant with views out to sea.
Next door to Camping Cabopino is Da Bruno's Italian restaurant. There are 2 lovely Indian restaurants (we prefer the one in the port), Pizza/pasta restaurants, Chinese, Meditteranean etc.
There really is something for every taste and budget. Our personal favourite is La Dispensa in the port.
You can hire a boat for the day in Cabopino and the office is in the port. There is also a small supermarket in the port.
Travel options
Cabopino is situated just off the main coast road and there is a regular bus service each day if you decide not to hire a car. The bus stop is just outside the site. Car hire is available from the airport (research which company is best for you - some charge for fuel up front and some only require refilling the tank). Costs vary throughout the year but the following other options will help to decide which option is best for you.
Another option is to take the train from the airport to Fuengirola, cross the road to the bus staion and take the bus to Marbella jumping off at Cabopino. This journey will cost around 5Euros per person and the same going back to the airport.
Another option is taxi. Costs can range from 70Euros to 120Euros each way.
I can arrange each way travel for you which will costs around 35Euros each way.
Nearby Areas
Nearby is Calahonda with various shops/restaurants/banks, La Cala with the same plus a Wednesday and Saturday market, Fuengirola is 20 minutes east. 5 minutes west you will find Elviria which boasts lovely restaurants including The Art Cafe and one of the best tapas bars in the area. Further on is Marbella town and the large La Canada shopping mall and further along is Puerto Banus. Take a look at the smaller places in between as there are some lovely beaches and restaurants hidden away. I can help you with that on booking and the reception at Camping Cabopino are very helpful with local information.
Food Shopping
Larger supermarket are 2 minutes away in the car/bus in Calahonda and Elviria and comprise of Mercadona, Supersol and Lidl.
Leisure
Marbella and Mijas Costa offer many golf courses, one of which surrounds Cabopino Camping. This one also has a driving range.
Sightseeing tours can be arranged through the reception. These may include trips to Granada, Gibraltar, Seville etc, boat trips, dolphin/whale watching, diving, fishing trips, horseriding etc etc. The large shopping malls offer cinemas and tenpin bowling. There are waterparks, Seaworld and the like.
Of course, you may also time it right to see one of the holiday fiestas that go on through the year in the main towns.
