PRIVATE SUMMER HOUSE
This private summer house is part of a 18-house 0,65 ha. condominium located in the Vourvourou area on the east coast of the Sithonia peninsula of Halkidiki. Most houses are inhabited by their owners, of Greek and other European nationalities.
The condominium is adjacent to the beach, overlooking Mount Athos. The distance of the beach from the house is less than 50m. and, especially during the week-days, it is as if a private beach.
The house has three levels: The 43m2 2-level ground floor consists of the living room, the kitchen and a small storage room and leads to a 20m2 terrace, with view to the sea. The 47m2 upper floor consists of three rooms, a twin-bedded room, a second bedroom with a single bed and a second-bed mechanism, a sitting room (which can sleep one person) and a bathroom (shower / toilette / washbasin). All three rooms have access to balconies. Finally, the 37m2 lower level (semi-basement) has one bathroom (shower / toilette / washbasin) and an auxiliary room. The house is surrounded on its three sides by a 260m2 garden, which is for the exclusive use of its occupants.
The house is ideal for 4 persons or a family with two children, but can also sleep five persons. We cannot accept a higher number of guests.
Minimum period of stay two weeks.
The house is fully furnished with new furniture and equipped with cooker, oven, refrigerator and freezer, dish washer, washing machine, 3 electric water heaters, coffee maker, mixer, toaster, a camping gas-burner, hairdryer, iron, drying rack and full set of cooking and serving utensils. A double set of bed sheets, blankets, pillows and pillowcases, and a large number of towels are provided.
A radiator central heating system is installed, but there is no air conditioning. The house has no land-line telephone, but has wi-fi internet access. A TV set with satellite reception (free channels only) is available.
One specific parking space is provided for each of the houses.
The condominium employs on a permanent basis a caretaker / gardener, who takes care of all common-use amenities and offers some services to the residents.
INFORMATION ON THE LOCATION
Vourvourou is 105 km from Thessaloniki airport.
The house is within walking distance (0,5 to 1,5 km) to the main street where supermarkets, shops, tavernas, restaurants, pizzarias, bars and night-clubs are to be found. The nearest village is Agios Nikolaos (13km) and the nearest town Nikiti (16km). In both one can find banks, pharmacies and medical care centers, but in the latter, which is the seat of the municipality, one can find large supermarkets and a wider range of shops.
8 km far from Vourvourou is the picturesque sea-side village of Ormos Panagias, where one can buy in early morning fresh fish straight from the fishermen and can also join a round boat trip to the Monastic Territory of the Holy Mountain (Mount Athos) and get a glimpse of its 1000-year old monasteries and its thrilling landscapes. This territory is considered to be the holy place of Orthodox Christianity and has Greek, as well as Russian, Romanian, Serbian, Bulgarian, etc. monasteries. Its permanent inhabitants are exclusively monks and women are not allowed to enter. But even for men, special authorization is required, which must be sought well in advance.
Vourvourou lies in the northeastern ’corner’ of the Sithonia peninsula, a round excursion of which is 120km long and will give the opportunity of seeing and swimming in some of its dozens beaches and holiday resorts.
