THE APARTMENT - An air contioned, ground floor apartment located on Lomas del Golf, which is a friendly complex with communial swimming pools, communial grassed sun bathing areas as well as private front and back gardens (sun traps) and good security. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. Lounge and both bedrooms are fully air conditioned/reversible heating, there is a TV, DVD, radio, CD player, hairdriers, dishwasher, washing machine, iron/board, oven and hob, microwave, garden furniture, beach umbrellas/chairs etc. Cots etc can be arranged at extra cost.
LOCATION - There are bars and restaurants within walking distance (3 to 4 minutes) as well as Villamartin Plaza with its shops, bank, brilliant selection of restaurants, bars, medical centre etc about 7 - 10 minutes walk away. There is a bus stop close by where you can catch a bus to the beach. Alicante Airport is approximately 55km and Murcia (San Javier) is approximately 20km.
BEACHES - Lomas del Golf is about 10 minutes drive from the nearest beach La Zenia, but there are lots of other beaches to the left and right of La Zenia including Playa Flamenca. Cala Capitan, San Pedro, Punta Prima etc.
SPORT - Horse riding is very close by and Villamartin Golf Course is also 7 - 10 minutes walk away. Incidentally, there are also two other golf courses Las Ramblas and Campoamar just 10 minutes drive away and I am told there are several other golf courses within approximately 20 minutes drive, La Manga being one of these golf courses. Tennis is available in Villamartin. Watersports are available at Mar Menor about 20 minutes drive.
HISTORICAL/SCENIC/SHOPPING - Alicante Marina about 50 minutes drive is well worth a visit so too is Alicante Town Centre for shopping. Nearer comprehensive shopping facilities can be found at Torrwvieja about 10km away. Murcia Town Centre is both historical and has many shops. Scenic Guadalest is well worth a visit (not far from Benidorm) but would be a full day out. Cartagenia has a port, is historical and has plenty of shops. If you like markets you must not miss Playa Flamenca Market, which is on Saturday mornings - a really large and busy place - don't forget, sun protection, comfy shoes and a bottle of water. San Miguel de Salinas the nearest Spanish village and has a market on Wednesdays.
Diane my management lady is located close by and is available for assistance. There are maps, books, DVDs, CDs etc available for your use. In fact most of the bits and bobs you have at home are there only on a smaller scale.
Ideally, I would suggest you hire a car to get the full benefit of the holiday but if necessary pick ups from the airport can be arranged at extra cost.
