The detached villa sits on one of the several small hills in Tavira Town and enjoys views along the river, over the Roman Bridge and the town centre and out to sea. With ~250 sqm, 4 bedrooms (2 x double, 2 x twin), 3 bathrooms, Lounge, Dining, Kitchen, Utility Room (Washer, Drier, etc), aircon, etc, the villa is amply equipped to accommodate up to 9 guests. Bedlinen and towels are changed and the villa cleaned each 6 to 8 days. There are 4 TV's with English, French, German channels (lounge, dining room, two bedrooms), DVD, WiFi internet 120Mbps, etc; telephone can be connected on request. Outside there are sun-loungers and umbrellas by the pool (11m x 5m with child security fence), BBQ, open-air dining facilities for up to 8 guests, etc. A selection of pool toys and flotation aids is usually available. A roof terrace offers panoramic views over Tavira town, along the river, over the Roman Bridge, and out to sea. A shaded terrace off the kitchen (overlooking the pool and with gas BBQ) is also equipped to allow up to 8 people to dine in the shade if the sun gets to be too much.
An ideal base for families who want to enjoy the many attractions of Tavira and of the Algarve, the villa is ~6 to 8 minutes walk to the old centre via a footpath at the back of the villa. Nearby are several magnificent golf courses (Benamor, Quintas da Ria/da Cima, Monte Rei, Castro Marim, Quinta do Vale, Colina Verde, etc -- and we can arrange temporary membership of a local golfing society which will ensure substantial discounts on green fees). and some � Ilha da Tavira offers ~12km of unspoilt beaches with wonderful white strands and even a secluded nudist beach. Express buses connect Tavira to Seville, Faro, Lisbon, etc; a local train serves the Algarve coastal towns. In summer the Camara arranges Street Theatre, Folk Music and Dancing, Exhibitions, Fairs, Circus, Film Festival, etc. The nearby Ria Formosa Nature Park offers cycling, horseriding, birdwatching, butterflies -- or just plain wandering. Scuba diving, deepsea fishing, surfing, paragliding, etc, are also on hand. The Guadiana Valley with its historic walled towns is a 30 minute drive -- or you can take a leisurely river cruise to inspect the towns, stopping off for lunch en route. For the shopaholic, the Tavira Gran Plaza mall offers the opportunity to shop till you drop -- it's also got a 5-screen cinema.
