Quinta das Achadas
Jill, Julio and daughter Isabella welcome you to Quinta das Achadas
Quinta Das Achadas is situated on the western part of the Algarve between Portimão and Lagos, in the town of Odiaxere
A restored 19th Century Portuguese farmhouse, Quinta das Achadas is situated on the western part of the Algarve. Secluded and unspoilt, this enviable oasis of peace and quiet finds itself conveniently close to the historic town of Lagos and from only 10 minutes to some of the best beaches in Portugal.
Rich in character and style, the Quinta is charming and tasteful. Simple yet lacking nothing, it defines rustic-modern. From the décor, where country antiques, wood burning fires and beautiful throws are complimented by modern art luxurious bathrooms, to the subtropical garden complete with a heated saltwater swimming pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, poolside cabana and children’s play area. The emphasis is on relaxing in comfort. Mediterranean style.
Mealtimes are equally as charming and eaten alfresco whenever possible. Take breakfast on your own private outdoor dining terrace in the welcomed shade of the fig, almond and orange tree’s and expect to be served eggs from the neighbour, fresh breads from the village bakery and homemade preserves made from fruit grown in the garden. The only rival to this effortless dining is when twice weekly, an evening meal is offered – and rarely turned down. Relaxed but not too casual, the three course Mediterranean dinners are cooked in an open plan country kitchen and served around a large communal dining table in the rustic dining room. Unless of course you visit in the warm summer months in which case you will also eat on the rooftop terrace with magnificent views over the unadulterated countryside.
Your host, Jill and Julio and young daughter Isabella, live on site and have a guest book that reads like an wards ceremony. From their willingness to assist with any problems that may arise at whatever time of day, to their intimate knowledge of the surrounding area and understanding of the wine and cuisine, they could not be more accommodating. Friendly yet unobtrusive they add to the understated and relaxed style that is Quinta das Achadas. Not just a luxury bed and breakfast, but a whole lot more.
