Dream rural retreat
Casita Carmelo is an exquisitely cosy and romantic hideaway from the hectic north European lifestyle, somewhere to put your feet up and..............relax.
The casita is part of a 250-year-old Canarian villa situated in the magical village of Haria, the valley of ten thousand palms, an oasis in the middle of a desert island.
The atmosphere within the casita is gentle and welcoming. Decorated in soft washes of natural earth colours which, when darkness falls and the lights are applied, becomes a romantic little haven.
There is a sunken bedroom with full en-suite shower room with stairs up to the sitting/dining area and rustic kitchen. From here the terrace doors lead out to the outside dining area, then onto the large sun-bathing terrace. The steps from here go down to the private swimming pool, shared with Carmelo´s little sister, Casita Susi.
In and around Haria are restaurants and bars, a pretty village square with a Saturday market, supermarkets, health centre, chemists, and a church. The surrounding area is all countryside, fabulous for walking, taking photographs or simple exploring.
Within a ten-minute drive are many of the Cesar Manrique attractions, Jameos del Agua, Los cuevos verde, Mirador del Rio and the Cactus garden.
All in all Casita Carmelo is an excellent base from which to explore the magical island of Lanzarote.
The casita has satellite TV, gas hob, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, ironing board and iron, fridge/freezer and radio/cd player.
