Holiday Townhouse in Iznajar, Cordoba, Spain
The village itself is typically Spanish and has narrow streets and a village square. It is peaceful, friendly and charmingly picturesque.
In the main street there is a Tapas Bar and two other bars. There are two shops for all provisions, as well as a mobile baker and fishmonger who visit regularly. There is also a bank, pharmacy and Church.
The picturesque traditional white walled, red roofed town of Iznajar is also nearby (9 km). It is built on a very steep hill over-looking a magnificent lake which is over 32 km long. The lake has a beach from which you can swim, sail, canoe and pedalo (when available). There are also restaurants close by.
From our south facing terrace there are views over the roof tops of the rolling hills covered with many olive trees, and in the distance the Sierra Nevada Mountains can be seen to the south east. These are only 2 hours drive away, for summer walking and winter skiing.
Whatever the season, we think Casa Woodpecker is an ideal spot for holidaying - but if you are an artist of any description or a writer it would make a wonderful retreat.
