The Gite has been been sympathetically renovated keeping many of the original features. With beautiful views overlooking our meadow. On our small farm we keep free range poultry. Also sheep & goats & Pompon our very old donkey.
Local activities
On Sundays in the summer local villages hold a ‘Brocantes,’ a cross between a car boot sale and antique market, lots of ‘rubbish’ but plenty of excellent bargains to be found.
Our nearest town is MONTMARAULT 9km away with supermarket, shops, banks, restaurants, bars and doctors. The main A71 route goes to this town.
LAPEYROUSE: Nearby man-made lake and beach, ideal for the family with swimming, fishing and pedallos.
VUCANIA VOLCANO PARK: descend to the depths of a crater to the centre of the earth.
PUY DE DOME: breathtaking views from this chain of extinct volcanoes, try paragliding and hang-gliding with qualified professionals.
GORGES de CHOUVIGHNY and SIOULE GORGES: Kayaking, canoeing and beautiful walks.
VICHY: water skiing on Lake Allier, thermal spa treatments in this most famous spa town.
NERIS LES BAINS: spa town and public baths. 18 hole golf course and practice.
BOURBON L’ARCHAMBAULT: fortress built before the ‘100 years was’. Visitors can still explore it’s imposing remains.
SOUVIGNY: one of the most beautiful churches in the land of the Bourbon dukes.
St POURCAIN: vineyard on the banks of the Allier one of the oldest in France.
LE PAL: Animal and theme park. The park has no less than 500 different animals plus water, rail and air attractions.
MOULINS: Capital of the Allier, visit the historical parts of this city, cathedrals and museums. Also the ALLIER VALLEY NATURE CENTRE: discover and learn about the natural heritage of the Allier Valley. Over 100 species of nesting birds. 250 species observed.
