4 Vientos
The villa is completely private, walled and fenced, with entry through electronic gates. It is set in beautiful countryside, yet is only 10 minutes walk from the historic spa village of Carratraca. Villa Quatro Vientos has high quality accommodation for up to 4 people. There are 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a laundry/utility room with washing machine, ironing facilities and a large living area with feature log fireplace. The kitchen is well equippedand has an attractive marble working surface. Satellite TV, DVD, video games and English books are provided, as is a drinks cupboard which you are welcome to enjoy( please replenish on departure). Patio doors lead from the lounge to the veranda overlooking the good sized pool (7.5x4m). There are terraces all around the villa with stunning views, sun loungers, table , chairs, barbeque and parking for 2 cars. Everything you might need is at the villa and many guests do nothing but visit a supermarket for supplies and spend all their time enjoying the facilities and the stunning views.However a short walk takes you into the village where, amongst the winding narrow streets you will find tapas bars and bar/restaurants offering extremely good value meals and local shops and banks. Should you wish to pamper yourself, unusually this small Andalucian village has a newly renovated 18th century spa baths and a new Ritz Carlton hotel with restaurant open to non-residents. Massages, treatments and use of spa can be booked during your stay. A short drive takes you to the Andalucian lake district and the El Chorro gorge with spectacular views of the turqoise lakes surrounded by pine trees. Here you can spend days relaxing at the side of the lakes where pedalos and canoes are available for hire, and the locals come to swim. El Chorro is a world famous climbing centre.
Here you will also find some charming lakeside restaurants offering reasonably priced meals in beautiful surroundings.
This is an excellent area for mountain biking, and bikes can be hired and delivered to the villa from 10 euros a day. Further afield, you can visit Ronda (45minutes by car on a direct route or an hour and a half on the scenic route through the Sirreas de las Nievas), Granada (an hour and a half), Seville (2 hours) and the Costa del Sol beaches are only 45minues away
Malaga airport is only 40mins drive away, or alternatively, you could consider using Granada (90mins on a good road). There are now some very cheap flights to Granada from some UK airports.
